History Patrol User Manual
Using the Setup Wizard
The below contained manual will guide you step by step through the process of setting up and using your History Patrol Software.
Step Two
Using the Wizard.
Once you have click the SETUP WIZARD button, the below screen will open up and explains the steps involved in using the wizard. Click NEXT

Step Three
Deciding Which URL's to Keep
The next step is to tell the program which URL's you want to keep. This feature of History Patrol will delete any typed URL's from Internet Explorer's address bar as well as will delete the internet usage history. Go through the list and select which URL's or sites that YOU WANT TO KEEP. To do this, highlight them by clicking on the site name, and then click ADD as shown below.
TIP: If you have a lot of sites you want to keep, it may be easier to add all of the sites by highlighting the first address in the list, holding down the SHIFT button on your keyboard and then scrolling down to the bottom address and highlight it - all of the addresses will be highlighted and can be added to the URL list to keep. You can then selectively choose which site to remove by highlighting it in the Keep list and clicking the DEL button.

Step Four
Deciding Which Cookies to Keep
Once you have selected which site URLs to keep, the next step will be to delete the cookies that are residing on your system. Using the same process as before to highlight and add URLs, go through the list and ADD which COOKIES you want to leave on your system. Be sure to go through the list carefully to make sure you don't delete any items you wanted to keep as there will likely be a lot of contained info that will surprise you.
Step Five
Replacing Files and Documents ( optional advanced feature )
One of the advanced features of History Patrol is that you can populate lists in areas like the RECENT DOCUMENTS folder. This can be useful in making it look like you were doing something productive at work like working on a file when you really were not. This is an advanced feature that most users will simply skip over.
Step Six
Replacing Media Files ( optional advanced feature )
History Patrol allows you to populate file lists with fake names so that when the list is cleared, it doesn't appear to be empty to someone checking up on you. In this section, you can add media files, documents and images to your Recent Documents file. To do so, simply type in the names of the fake files in this screen, and History Patrol will automatically populate the list with these files each time it cleans the Recent Document file list.
Step Seven
Setting the Temporary File Folder Location ( optional advanced feature )
History Patrol will automatically detect the location of where your Temporary File Folder is, but if you are an advanced user and want to specify a different location, you can do so here. If you don't have a specific reason to change this setting, we recommend leaving it as is.

Step Nine
Setting the User Settings
History Patrol allows you to protect your settings with a password. This prevents anyone from accessing the program to see which settings, fake file names etc you are using and is recommended that you use this feature.
The encryption feature protects your privacy by encrypting your registry settings. This is useful if an advanced user is looking in your system files for evidence of what settings History Patrol is using. By default, it is set to ENCRYPT, and unless you have a specific reason for changing it, we suggest leaving it as is.
The final setting is the option to run History Patrol at start up. This will load the program each time you start your computer, but will not automatically scrub your history until you tell it to by clicking the " Clean System Now " button on the main interface.

Step Ten
Finishing the Wizard Set Up Process
History Patrol is now ready to clean your history. Once you are at this screen, click the FINISH button and you will return to the main interface where you can then click the CLEAN SYSTEM NOW button and your computer will be instantly cleaned of any evidence of where you have been or what you have been doing.
